Decorate Together

My husband and I are at the tail end of a move.  We’ve actually moved many times in the almost five years that we’ve been married.  One of the best parts of moving for me is decorating your place.  Not only because it gives your home your own personal touch, but it’s one of the last things that I do so it means I’m almost done moving.

I love to be creative and find new things to decorate our home with.  However, I feel like my husband just gets the short end of the stick when it comes to this.  He just kind of has to deal with what I come up with.

With this date, make the decorating a group effort.  You can go to a store and have your spouse pick out their favorite decoration or have them select their favorite picture and put it in a frame.  There are a lot of different options here.  You could even search Pinterest together for a fun project.  You can pick your favorite decoration as well.  Select places to put them up in your home.  When you pass that particular picture or object, you will think about your spouse.
Relationship reconnection – Ask your spouse why they chose that particular piece to decorate your home with.  Think about their response and truly listen.  Maybe it has some sentimental meaning to them or it reminded them of a childhood memory that they wanted in their own home.

Happy dating!
